VectorGuard® stencils outline more certain future for lead-free high accuracy mass imaging

With the lead-free deadline now less than 12 months away, it is essential that manufacturers are equipped to deal with the consequences. The changes in paste rheology resulting from the transition to lead-free will have far-reaching implications for all aspects of process set-up - not least aperture release.

Fortunately, at DEK, our lead-free portfolio has anticipated this challenge and is prepared for the variables that will impact at each stage of SMT assembly.

The VectorGuard® stencil range is just one example of how DEK is restoring certainty to lead-free mass imaging. Our research found that when comparing results across a range of stencils, pure nickel electroform and nickel laser cut stencils achieved the highest paste volume repeatability. This is due to the low-friction property of nickel, which promotes paste release during the separation phase.

    • DEK VectorGuard® Gold eform stencils offer superior paste volume repeatability for dramatically enhanced paste release and end of line yield rates
    • DEK VectorGuard® Silver nickel laser cut stencils provide manufacturers with a high level of paste volume repeatability to optimise process efficiency
So, with DEK lead-free, uncertain times do not have to mean uncertain processes.
